Choy Li Fut Kung Fu

“Choy Li Fut is the most effective system that I've seen for fighting more than one person. It is one of the most difficult styles to attack and defend against. Choy Li Fut is the only style that traveled to Thailand to fight the Thai boxers and won.””..... Bruce Lee

Lohan Sifu’s journey into martial arts began with a passion ignited in his youth. From the very start, his dedication was unwavering, and through years of intense, disciplined training, he honed his skills and deepened his understanding of Choy Li Fut. This commitment was recognised when he was appointed as a successor of the King Mui lineage, a prestigious role that he now fulfils by teaching students around the world.

What sets Lohan Sifu apart is not just his mastery of martial techniques but his holistic approach to teaching. He believes that martial arts are more than physical combat; they are a path to mental focus, self-discipline, and personal growth. In his classes, forms are carefully selected to match each student’s body type, temperament, and skill level, ensuring that every practitioner receives a tailored and enriching experience.

The rich heritage of Choy Li Fut spans over 3,000 years, with a lineage that traces back from the Buddha to Chan Heung, the founder of the style. This legacy was meticulously preserved in the village of King Mui and passed down to Chan Sun-Chiu, who, recognising Lohan Sifu's dedication and skill, entrusted him with this profound tradition. Today, Lohan Sifu continues this legacy as the founder of Lohan Martial Arts.

Lohan Sifu’s martial arts career is marked by rapid progress and early recognition. He explored various styles before fully dedicating himself to Choy Li Fut at the age of nineteen. His exceptional talent and relentless pursuit of excellence led to him being acknowledged as one of the youngest 5th generation successors of this ancient art. Despite earning the title of Grandmaster, he humbly prefers the traditional title of Sifu, reflecting his deep respect for the lineage and its customs.

In 2005, Lohan Sifu’s skill and dedication were showcased on the world stage when he competed at the 1st World Traditional Wushu Tournament in Zhengzhou, China, where he won two silver medals. After an illustrious competitive career, he shifted his focus entirely to teaching, founding Lohan Martial Arts in 2000. His reputation as an exceptional instructor has earned him invitations to conduct seminars worldwide, where he continues to inspire and educate the next generation of martial artists.
